Here’s Me

I want to share the joy of cooking and travel with everyone!

Sloppy Joe Turnovers

Sloppy Joe Turnovers

I have been going through recipes from my older supplies when I found this one. I love sloppy joes, so I knew I had to try it and man what an adventure. This takes a bit of time to prep everything. I think it took me about 30 minutes to get to the baking. It was easy, however! I did add cheese to some and it wasn’t worth it.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef

  • 1/4 cup ketchup

  • 1 tablespoon Chili sauce

  • 1 teaspoon Cider vinegar

  • Onion

  • 12 oz biscuit dough (10 biscuits)

Prep

  1. Chop half the onion

  2. In a pan on medium heat, heat up beef and onion until no longer red. Drain

  3. Preheat oven to 350 F

  4. Add ketchup, Chili sauce, and vinegar to beef and onion. Stir well

  5. Let cool for 15 minutes

  6. Cover a flat, clean surface with flour lightly

  7. Take biscuit and use rolling pin to roll flat to about 6 inch circles

  8. Scoop sloppy joe on half the rolled dough

  9. Fold over and press edges together to seal in sloppy joe

  10. Place on cookie tray

  11. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until biscuit is golden

Afterthoughts

These are a great dish. The biscuit crust melts in your mouth and gets you to the juicy inside. They are super filling and super fun. I love having a new way to enjoy one of my favorite main dishes!
