Easier then Expected, Meatballs
Prep: 5 minutes Bake: 22 Minutes
I had a hankering for meatballs. That’s it. That’s how this happened. I decided to go mushroom sauce instead of marinara because it sounded good. That worked out as well so here we are. Have some meatballs.
Ingredients
1/2 lbs ground beef
1 egg
2 tbls milk
Italian seasoning to taste
2 tbls diced onion
2 tbls Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup bread crumbs (I used Italian herbs and cheese flavored)
Minced garlic as you please
Prep
You need to be gentle while mixing so that it doesn’t get too compacted.
Uniformity in size makes the bake equal as well
Preheat oven to 375 F
Add all ingredients to a bowl and mix gently together. You do not want it to get too packed. I used my hands
Cover a cookie/baking tray in foil (or spray if you want)
Separate the mixture evenly and gently roll into a ball shape and place on tray. I got about 10 out of the mixture I made. You want them to be identical in size to ensure even cooking
Bake for 20-22 minutes until no longer red inside
Enjoy with whatever sauce you want. I made mushroom sauce from mushroom soup
Afterthoughts
You can plate how you want, I used mushroom sauce and pasta
These came out really well. I needed a bit more seasoning as I was running out of garlic though. I wish I had a bit more in them. However, while similar to how we make meatloaf in my family, this still had that meatball taste and I loved it. The mushroom sauce I added really made a difference though. While still good alone, that sauce brought out the flavor in a great way. These ones are not spicy but you could easily add more spices and herbs to change things up. A fast easy dish to include in meals for anyone.
