C‘est La Cuisine: Stuffed Breakfast Mushrooms

These were a lot of fun to make and eat. There’s seafood version of this I’d love to replicate but I needed a breakfast version. Sausage and cheese make this great!
Ingredients
6 Large button mushrooms with stems
4 oz ground sausage
1/4 cup Butter
1/4 cup shredded cheddar
Prep
Preheat your oven to 375 F (177 C)
In a pan on medium heat cook the ground sausage
Take the mushrooms and remove the stems to open the center
Scoop the done sausage into the mushrooms
Add into a casserole dish or on a tray with parchment paper
Slice the butter into small chunks or packs
Add around the mushrooms
Cover in the cheese
Bake for 15-20 minutes until butter and cheese are melted
Afterthoughts
These mushrooms absorbed the butter and hid their earthy, sometimes rubbery taste. The sausage and cheese was good inside for more flavor and kick. This needs eaten while hot. This is one way to get some veggies down and I can’t wait to try stuffing with other flavors.
