Valentine's Special: PB&J Brownies
Prep: 10 minutes Bake 20 minutes or so
Box mixes are great because they take out the measurements and fiddly bits of baking and allow you to have a tasty product. Sometimes you can do more to dress it up to surprise yourself or someone else. That’s where PB&J brownies come in.
Ingredients
Box mix of brownies
1 egg
Vegetable oil as directed on box
Water as directed on box
Jar of peanut butter
Jar of jam, preferably strawberry
Prep
Preheat oven as directed on box
Mix eggs, water, oil and mix as needed to form brownie mix
Take a muffin or cupcake baking tray
Spray with non stick oil
Fill partway with brownie mix
Add dollop of peanut butter in center
Add more brownie mix on top
Bake as directed and make sure it is done all the way through. It’s harder to get out of the tin if not
When cool enough and when ready to eat, add jam to the top
Afterthoughts
These fun brownies are great with or without the jam but fun either way. The flavors both go well with the chocolate of the brownie and it makes a good snack for anyone that loves PB&J and brownies. It’ll be a fun surprise for anyone for Valentine’s.
