C’est La Cuisine: Mushroom Sauce

This sauce is great for pouring on most meats and maybe pasta. I want to try it on potatoes too. Just give this love.
Ingredients
1 small can button mushrooms
2 tbls minced garlic
1/4 chopped onion
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup vegetable broth
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 tbls corn starch
2 tbls water
thyme to taste
salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup dry white wine
Prep
Heat a cast iron skillet to a medium heat
Melt the butter and add the onions
Heat through about three minutes
Add the mushrooms and heat through 3-5 minutes
Add the garlic and thyme to taste and mix well
Add the white wine and raise heat to reduce the wine
Reduce the heat and and the broth and heavy cream
Add the salt and pepper to taste and allow to simmer at least 5 minutes to reduce
Mix the cornstarch with water fully and add in small bits to sauce and mix to thicken
Serve poured on whatever you desire
Afterthoughts
This was a delicious sauce. I used it on a baked pork and it was phenomenal. I want to make this on so many other things. The garlic and onion went well with the mushrooms. This was simple to make and just took some stirring and keeping an eye. It was a breeze and a robust taste.
