C'est La Cuisine: Bacon Wrapped Chicken Croissant

Prep: 7 minutes Bake 25 Minutes

For Video Game month on C’est La Cuisine I chose Bioshock Infinite to honor. My main dish was this: Bird in a Cage. Bacon Wrapped Chicken, encased in a Croissant. This baked dish was fantastic and hard to put down. Super easy and honestly, pretty quick. Let’s dive in with this single serve recipe that is easily expanded for more.

Ingredients

  • 1 Chicken breast

  • 2 strips bacon

  • 1 croissant roll (I used a Pillsbury tube of the homestyle variety)

  • Seasonings as desired. I used Cajun spice, Paprika, Garlic Powder, and Onion Powder

Prep

  1. Preheat your oven to 400

  2. Pound the chicken until it is an even height and not thicker on any end

  3. Rub with your spice choices

  4. Wrap in the bacon

  5. Place on a cooking tray with foil on it

  6. Bake for about 15-20 minutes to get started

  7. Pull out and wrap with the croissant roll

  8. Bake for a final 5-10 minutes until the croissant is browned

Afterthoughts

This was so moist and delicious. The slightly low heat kept the chicken from drying, as did the bacon grease. The whole thing paired amazingly and was hard to eat slowly to savor. I loved everything. This makes a great meal for entertaining. If you wrap it right, it’s almost finger food!
