C’est La Cuisine: Pecan Crusted Pork Chop

Prep: 15 minutes Bake: 20- 25 minutes

I needed a way to use up some pecans and so we landed on a pecan coat for some pork. According to the food bible, pork and honey go with pecans so we did a honey glaze and pecan crust. You can replace the honey glaze with an egg coat to stick the pecan on it. Makes 4 pork chops.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless pork chops

  • Honey glaze

  • Paprika to taste

  • Italian herbs to taste

  • 1 small bag of pecans

  • Olive oil for pan sear

Prep

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F (177 C)

  2. Rub the chops with the paprika and herbs to preference

  3. Add the pecans to a food processor to break into small pieces. I did slightly larger chunks but you can choose what you’d like

  4. Add broken pecans to a bowl

  5. Use a brush to rub the honey glaze over the chops

  6. Dip into pecans and coat the chops

  7. Heat a skillet to medium heat

  8. Add a touch of oil

  9. Add the chops to sear both sides. This should only be a few minutes each side but keep an eye as the pecans burn fast

  10. Add to baking tray

  11. Bake for 20 minutes or until internal temp is at least 145 F (62.8 C)

Afterwards

This was a tasty fun time. It wasn’t crunchy like I expected but went phenomenal with my mushroom sauce. This was easy and fun to make and my family really enjoyed the dinner!
