Peanut Butter Rice Crispy Treats

Prep: 10 minutes Cool: 30 minutes

I loved two kinds of rice crispy treats and neither are sold anymore around me. I found out Kellogg has a recipe up for treats and I adjusted it to make it peanut butter with chocolate!

Ingredients

  • 3 tbls butter

  • 10 oz marshmallow crème

  • 1 cup peanut butter

  • 4-6 cups rice crispy cereal

  • 8-10 squares of melting chocolate (I used 2 bitter sweet and 8 semi sweet)

Prep

  1. Line a 9 x 13 pan with parchment paper

  2. In a sauce pan that can hold up to six cups of cereal, heat it to a low heat

  3. Melt the butter

  4. Add the marshmallow and peanut butter

  5. Stir as it heats and melts the marshmallow and peanut butter and mix fully

  6. Remove from heat and add the rice crispys a cup at a time and mix until it’s a sticky mess that can hold together. You might not use all the cereal

  7. Dump this mix into the prepared pan and spread it out and press down gently to make a flat brick

  8. Set this aside to cool at least 15 minutes to harden

  9. Melt the chocolate and spread on top

  10. Allow to cool fully, I snuck mine into the fridge for 20 minutes

  11. Slice into squares

Afterthoughts

These tasted amazing and so similar to the taste I remember when Kellogg used to sell these. It was super easy and even when I messed up and didn’t use enough marshmallow, it was easy to add more and fix it. I highly recommend this recipe!
