Cinnamon Apple Croissants
Prep: 15 minutes Bake: 9-12 minutes
I love putting cinnamon apples in pastries and this is more of that. The buttery, flaky pastry goes so well with the sweet apple cinnamon taste. This is a fast and cheap recipe as it uses pre-made dough. Makes 8 servings.
Ingredients
1 can pre-made butter croissants from Pillsbury
2 or 3 small apples. I used 3 comfortably but they’re a little stuffed
1/2 cup brown sugar
1-2 tbls cinnamon (depends on how strong you want it)
2 tbls butter
Prep
Preheat oven to 375 F (190 C)
Cut apples into small chunks
Heat a pan to medium high heat
Melt the butter in pan
Add the apples
Add the brown sugar and cinnamon
Mix well
Let apples simmer in this for about 7-10 minutes or until softened when pressed
Remove from heat and set aside
Line a baking tray with parchment paper or foil
Open croissant can and unroll individual ones
Spoon apples into the center, spread vertical with the length of the croissant triangle
Roll from wide end toward triangle point
Add rolled croissant onto baking tray
Bake 9-12 minutes until getting that good brown color
Let cool slightly before eating
Afterthoughts
I really love these, but I’m an easy sell though for cinnamon apples in dough. This was super fast and easy to put together, less than a half hour. This is a fun dessert and treat for anyone that combines a savoury and sweet taste.
