Here’s Me

I want to share the joy of cooking and travel with everyone!

Just Gonna Pivot

I have a coworker that is the best of humans. Him and his wife actually. She’s been my mentor at work, he’s been a phenomenal addition to our team and we share a love of food. He’s the baker I wish I was and always happy to lend advice and talk me through things with this website.

That’s where today’s post will venture.

I started courses at a local college for Hospitality and Culinary school and I got the chance to interview another food blogger about their content and their life in this world. She had great advice on focusing on the website not the socials and I took it to heart and started working on my content here more. A few months passed and my coworker was asking me questions about it. He asked about my 5 year goals and plans and ultimately, what is my dream with this place.

The answer came so easy, ‘To travel around with it and share what I experience with anyone willing to listen.” His probing questions led me to realize how I was using the pandemic as an excuse to keep just posting recipes, that are not my forte, nor my dream. So now, we’ll be pivoting.

The pivot will be simple and not so simple. I am updating the pages to focus more on the travel and restaurant reviews. You’ll see some changes in navigation and hopefully, slowly more posts that align with that. My YouTube will be used mostly for This Food in History and eventually maybe some travel shorts. I’ll be phasing out the recipes, (not deleting them, just not putting any priority on them and likely not many new ones being posted) or repurposing them with my travel adventures. I am so excited to start redesigning again and building anew. Though now I just need the time and funds to maintain actually traveling.

I hope your winter and New Year finds just as exciting a venture for you!
